Trump ain't dying anytime soon
Sorry
It turns out, the death of Trump was greatly exaggerated
After nearly a week of online discourse and assertions that presidente Donald Trump was certainly dead, he appeared on camera today to make several announcements at the White House.
While the U.S. President was senile and senseless, he seemed to be in the same general physical condition as usual.1
Hey, I get it. you can count me as those who would be celebrating in the streets at the news of Trumps death. To imagine a world without Trump is a great bit of escapism. However, to continue to wish for his death is a waste of time. A fantasy.
Just… the fact of the matter is that Trump is unlikely to die anytime soon, let alone while in office. He has access to the best medical care in the world, and he has fairly regularly health check ups (I would guess 1-2 a month) where any issue is swiftly addressed and handled. Short of a sudden stroke or heart attack, I highly doubt there is any terminal issue at hand. If Trump truly was dying, it would be really hard to keep it quiet. There would be about 1000 different points of contact (doctors, nurses, interns, etc.) where someone would say something, even if it just was “Trump is in the hospital” or “Trump is really sick”.
And if he did die, would that honestly be any better? J.D. Vance would take over as president, but there would be a huge power vacuum in the wake of Trump’s death (which would be sure to cause a lot of chaos). And yes, Vance is a weaker person than Trump, but he holds the same authoritarian view points. In fact, he is even more in the pockets of billionaires than Trump, and is closely tied to the creation of Project 2025.
So, I say this not to crush anyone’s dreams, but to set the right expectations for our current reality. To continue spending time and energy wishing for this old man to die is a waste.
In fact, it might very well be an intended distraction. Trump’s authoritarian take over is set to extend to the first liberal city outside of Washington D.C. - Chicago. In case it isn’t clear, that is really bad. Not just because Trump is using D.C. as a “template”, but because Chicago has the largest population of Mexicans outside of the Western U.S. and accounts for 21% of Chicago’s population. And, they have a really big party for Mexican Independence Day (I’ve seen it, they get fun and wild).
What day is Mexican Independence Day you ask? September 16 (with celebrations taking place the weekend prior). And it is rumored that Trump plans to deploy a number of ICE agents and the National Guard soon, specifically to target Mexican Independence Day.
And also there’s the Epstein Files, inflation going crazy, government services being cut, National Parks being dismantled, and of course the growing tide of anti-queer and anti-trans legislation.
So yes, Trump being gone would be nice, but it’s hardly the thing to worry about right now.
Which is to say - old as fuck and out of shape
